The courses are organized for students and PhD students to offer guidance in using library services and resources and to assist in learning how to do a bibliographic research.

Simple search. Help with your paper, dissertation or thesis

The course aims to provide the skills you need to learn the best strategies to find documents on a specific topic using the resources provided by Politecnico and to write respecting copyright.

At the moment there are no scheduled dates.

Registrations
The registration form is available from 2 weeks before the date of the course.
Registrations close when the maximum number of participants is reached.

The bibliographic citations and the management of the bibliography

Contents:

  • How to cite the sources: books, articles, online resources, websites.
  • Citation styles: methods more in use (author-date system ; numbered system)
  • Refworks, a software to manage the bibliography: how to organize and create your own personal archive of bibliographic records; how to format citations  and bibliographies in a wide variety of styles.

On demand courses

These courses are organized at the request of a professor for their students.

The contents of the course can be adapted to the educational needs of the professor and are related to research tools, resources on subscription, citations and copyright.

The courses are held in the classroom and can be activated in a flexible and immediate manner

Refworks

Watch how to use Refworks, the software that allows you to organize and create your own personal archive of bibliographic records. You can automatically import references from databases or manually insert data.
RefWorks, furthermore, allows you to format your publications and bibliographies in a wide variety of styles.
