Studio di architettura GPA Monti (1948-2012)

The GPA Monti studio is named after the initials of the three young architects who founded it in 1948, after graduating from the Milan Polytechnic in that same year.  They began operating in the city marked by the great destruction of the Second World War. The studio stands out in the design of condominiums and office buildings and in over half a century of activity it stands out among the main exponents of Milanese architectural culture, contributing significantly to the post-war reconstruction of the Lombard metropolis and to the modern definition of its face.

In corso Sempione, in corso Garibaldi, in viale Magenta, in via Carducci, in via Olona, in the new large districts Vialba, Monte Olimpino, Feltre, the three architects experiment with innovative solutions in the forms as well as in the use of materials. And it is an experimentation that is also happily applied to design, in a balance between invention and functionality that is worthy of important awards in Italy and abroad.

The fonds is made up of 632 files containing documents, drawings in heliographic reproduction, photographs and 517 folders and rolls of drawings, for a total of 1149 archival units.

It was donated to Historical Archives in 2014.
