Online Reference service Ask@your library (Chiedi@lla tua biblioteca®) offers you the chance to ask questions about the University's library services and suggestions on the use of information resources.

You can receive assistance in finding appropriate resources to consult and use the best search strategies.
The service is aimed at users of the Politecnico di Milano.
External users' requests are fulfilled based on availability of time depending on the number of requests sent.

How to request and response times

Send a request

The response will be provided within one business day.
The answers are sent in the opening days, from Monday to Friday business hours.

The service provides support for:

  • information about libraries
  • bibliographic information
  • information on electronic resources
  • suggestions on the use of the catalogue
  • information on the libraries website
  • information on argument, cartography and planning
  • information on archival sources of the University

The service provides assistance for:

  • provision of services (loan requests, loan renewals, reservations, interlibrary loans, Documenet Delivery etc.)
  • requiring complex research questions, for which please refer to reference service by appointment
  • compiling bibliographies

How to access to answers and to old requests

  • all the users will receive the answers via email. The registered users will be able to view their requests (tickets) at "Online services / Requests and assistance / My requests" 

  • to view the requests sent before 13th March 2017 you can enter the email address and the request code at Check the request status. In case you have forgotten the request code, you can enter the email address previously provided and you will view the list of your reqeusts with their codes.
