Opening Hours

Reading room
Monday - Friday  9 am to 7 pm
5 workstations are available for bibliographic researching.
The reading room is air conditioned.

Book loans and Magazine consultation
Monday - Friday:  9 am to 12.30 am -  2 pm to 5 pm. Returns accepted until 4.45 pm.

Onsite use

Registered users enabled on the University authentication system may read library documents:

  • books: the books located on open shelf in the reading room are freely available
  • journals: the journals are stored in closed stacks of Central Engineering Library. You can request them at the circulation desk of that Library and you can read them in the room situated next to lthe circulation desk of the Central Engineering Library.


The loan service is available to users registered and enabled in the university's authentication system.

Ordinary and associate professors, researchers and PhD Politecnico students: 

  • 25 books at the same time for 1 year, renewable. 

The other users:

  • 5 books at the same time for 4 weeks, renewable for an additional 14 days.

Loans can be renewed through the personal area of the online catalogue, or by going to the loan desk with the book or calling the loan service, but only if the book has not been requested by another user.

Returns are allowed by 4.45 pm


A self-service photocopying service is available within the limits foreseen by the law on copyright.
To photocopy articles from paper journals the internal users may ask the library staff.

From workstations in the library you can access Politecnico websites, catalogues and subscribed eletronic resources (electronic journals, databases, e-books ...)
