The Brioschi fonds (1884-1897)

Francesco Brioschi (1824 - 1897)

Mathematician and pupil of Antonio Maria Bordoni at Pavia University which he graduated from in 1847. He played a part in the Risorgimento. Member of parliament and then senator in the Kingdom of Italy and university professor, he was one of the exponents of the Regio Istituto Tecnico Superiore di Milano in 1863 and appointed director, a post he held until his death.

Historical fonds acquired by the university when Brioschi died after a public subscription. It is made up of 74 bundles containing documents relating to Brioschi's scientific, academic and public work and one file in a different format.

Held at the Archivi Storici since July 2011.
